Three days ago I got to meet Keith Olbermann.
Two days ago Barack Obama accepted his nomination, live in front of me. Behind a scaffolding. But still.
One day ago…I rested from the DNC experience.
Today got jumping stilts in the mail, got a fresh season of LoM (still loving Gene!), and spent an hour and a half playing with six puppies.
Can life get more fabulous than this?
Still, feeling very tired and stressed, so going to nap presently.
Will video tape my first steps on the stilts, but I have to buy wrist guards first. My wrists are screwed up enough without absorbing a fall from great bouncy heights.

Today 80,000 people and I will have the opportunity to see Barack speak live in Denver.

Why the hell did I graduate?? To get a real job and have the life force sucked out of me until I die a miserable shell of myself?

Note to self: don’t forget to look for a real job.

Especially Boulderific entries: Adverse possession, Bruce Benson, 420, Dogs. We do love dogs. They go so well with our love of outdoor sports (see “Xtreme sports”).

Who knew that ostriches lived in caves?

Note the lack of housing for people making under six figures. Note to self: get your head out of the sand and get a real job before you get evicted from this town you love so much and have to go live in Hygiene (with the rest of the ostriches).

LOM S02 is taking forever to download. Meh.

Through the magic of the Internet, the kindness of a stranger, and another factor I can’t really go into here (if I don’t want to be hunted down by hordes of rabid, insane Bill O’Reilly fans), I’ve got a pair of jumping stilts on the way from Amazon!

I’m so jealous of myself!

I’ve done some editing on the Gene Hunt wikipedia page under the pen name CuteGargoyle.

Specifically, I added a section on Gene’s leadership skills. It’s just a rough draft (obviously), but I didn’t want to put too much time into adding examples and references before I see how the whole idea is going to be received by the other editors.

Catch it quick before some jerk reverts it! (One jerk in particular, actually.)

Congrats to Rachel, and Keith, if you want to turn British, I guess I won’t complain too much.

It really is a very, very good show.

I recommend downloading it as a BitTorrent or springing for the DVDs if you can play Region 2. The high def widescreen justifies it. Don’t just watch it on BBC America, fullscreen and blurry.

Turns out that the disc I was given was missing one ep from in between the others, so what I referred to below (or above?) as ep 5 is really ep 6. The one I missed is the one where they’re undercover at the pub, which was a fantastic ep! Very funny. Very Gene-tastic.

I can hardly wait for S02 to finish downloading in the next day and a half.

I’m going to have to go find a swank job soon so I can buy HDTV stuff sometime in the next year. Gonna need a HD TV and a custom-built DVR with a multi Tb hard drive to store all this BBC crap on! And probably an HD antenna for local stuff. I would like the freedom to drop Comcast cable TV when they get to demanding that we pay $50 more per month for digital converter boxes.

I think the digital conversions (broadcast and cable) are going to be the beginning of the end of cable TV as a medium. The Internet will supersede cable TV once analog is largely unavailable and everybody is forced to pay through the nose for programming they don’t even like.

Because Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace is so in line with the British faux-1980s farcical misogyny of Ashes to Ashes, and because I’ll take any excuse to watch Richard Ayoade rapping, here’s One Track Lover. (Probably not for the first time here.)
